Pharmacy Prior Authorization (PA) Extension

As we all deal with the unknowns of the current situation, Cox HealthPlans continues to look for ways to help relieve unnecessary stress and hardship to our members. There are members who are currently taking medications that require Prior Authorization (PA) approval. These Prior Authorizations are generally in place for a specific timeframe and require the patient’s physician to resubmit for approval (when appropriate) at the end of that timeframe. With the limited ability for members to visit their primary care physician and other current obstacles that may be affecting our members, we are extending those authorizations currently due to expire. The extension will be in place until the end of June, 2020.
