Taking time to volunteer is a great way to find purpose and meet new people.  Here are just a few ways to get out and make a difference in our community.

The Kitchen:

For individuals wanting to volunteer on a one day or limited basis, they need help sorting household goods and food at the Receiving and Distribution center.  The days and times are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Projects for groups will primarily be available Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Depending on the group size, ages, skill set and time of the year, they are generally able to provide a project.

Groups can sign up by calling 417-225-7404

Rare Breed:

Some opportunities for evenings are available at the Rare Breed location for individuals willing to make a regular ongoing commitment. This would be Monday through Friday.

Groups can sign up to provide and serve dinner at the Rare Breed site by calling 417-225-7404.

Victory Mission:

As a volunteer with Victory Mission, you are taking part in a creative and direct approach to serving individuals and families in need. Whether you're looking for a one-time project or a long-term commitment, they can help you find the opportunity that's right for you. Individuals, families, students, church groups, corporate organizations and community groups can find a variety of volunteer projects that match their interests.  You can contact Victory Mission at 417-831-6387.

Harmony House:

Volunteer opportunities are available in many areas and skill levels, including meal preparation and serving, building maintenance, and cleaning. This approach allows volunteers to initially experience different areas of the shelter, which enables volunteers to determine where and how their skills set, talents and interests will best serve Harmony House and provide the greatest enjoyment to them.

If you would like to find out more about how your time can help make a difference in the lives of others, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator – Felicia Rose at 417-837-7700.
