Seeking Care During COVID-19

Even with COVID-19 being in the forefront of our daily lives, other medical needs and illnesses still call for prompt attention. At Cox HealthPlans, we want to ensure you have access to the care you need. From in person care to virtual visits, know that we have options to fit your comfort level.

Many physician offices have re-opened and are taking extra steps to ensure their facilities are safe for you and your family. This includes symptom screenings, taking additional time to disinfect surface areas between patients, and spacing chairs at least 6 feet apart in waiting areas. However, we understand visiting a physician in person may not be the best option for everyone.

Virtual visits can be a great option to visit a primary care physician or specialist from the comfort of your own home. If you already have a primary care physician, call their clinic to get started. If your physician is unavailable for virtual visits, or if you’d like to get established with a new doctor, call our INFO line at 417-269-4636 and we’ll get you connected with one!

In some cases, when care cannot wait, visiting an urgent care clinic can be a convenient way to address non-life-threatening illness and injury. If you’d like to skip the waiting room, CoxHealth offers Save My Spot at urgent care locations or walk-in clinics. This option lets you reserve your spot in line, so you don’t have to stay in the waiting room before your appointment.

We know that many patients are hesitant about coming to the doctor’s office or the hospital due to COVID-19 concerns. However, for some, the risk of delaying or neglecting ongoing medical care can be just as serious as COVID. You don't have to delay care for your annual check-up, chronic care management or other health care concerns.
