We are now in the Special Enrollment Period of the year. This means you must have a Qualifying Event in order to enroll in a health plan until the next Open Enrollment.

A Qualifying Event is a life changing event that has occurred within the last 60 days. Some examples would be:

  • Newborn child or adoption
  • Marriage or Divorce
  • Loss of coverage due to employment change
  • Recent move into our individual service area
  • Aging off of your parents plan at age 26

If you qualify, you will need to submit documentation that verifies the event’s occurrence to complete enrollment. Additional documentation may be required depending on the qualifying event.

Most of the time, the effective date is the First of the Month following receipt of Application and Premium. Newborns and Adoptions would typically be the date of birth or finalization of adoption.
