CoxHealth Auxiliary Honored as Auxiliary of the Year

CoxHealth Auxiliary is one of four Missouri hospital auxiliaries honored by the Missouri Association of Hospital Auxiliaries for their volunteer service. The awards were presented during the Missouri Hospital Association’s 97th Annual Convention & Trade Show in Osage Beach, Mo., on Nov. 7.

CoxHealth Auxiliary was honored for service as an auxiliary serving a hospital with more than 300 licensed beds. 

The CoxHealth Auxiliary’s flagship program supports the future workforce. From June 2018 to June 2019, the auxiliary donated nearly $100,000 to nursing students seeking an associates or bachelor’s degree in nursing. The scholarships cover full tuition.

The auxiliary also supports a Medical Explorers program that engages nearly 400 students in health career observations. The 1,380 members of the auxiliary provided 168,010 hours of service, and supported a total of $241,123 in donations to the hospital and through scholarships.

The Missouri Hospital Association is a not-for-profit association in Jefferson City that represents 141 Missouri hospitals. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its membership, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public about health care issues.
